What is Citi PayAll?
Citi PayAll is a service that enables Citi cardholders to make payments to various Payees using a Citi credit card. You can now make several payments - such as school fees, rent, membership / association fees, retainer / professional fees, and insurance premiums for just a small fee. These transactions will also allow you to earn miles, points, or rebates.
To start using Citi PayAll, please sign up via the Citi Mobile® Application, or through the link in the email or SMS sent to you.
Who can I pay with the Citi PayAll Service?
Citi PayAll allows you to pay for school fees, rent, membership / association fees, retainer / professional fees, and insurance premiums using your Citi Credit Card. The beneficiary need not be a Citibank Customer, as PayAll allows transfers to other local banks. These funds will be received by the beneficiary as a normal bank funds transfer.
For this service, only domestic / local transfers will be allowed.
What cards can I use for Citi PayAll Service?
You can use the following cards for the Citi PayAll Service – Citi Prestige, Citi PremierMiles, Citi Rewards, Citi Platinum, Citi Cashback, Citi Simplicity, Citi Shell, and Citi Mercury.
Do I earn rewards for my Citi PayAll Service transactions?
Yes. You will earn rewards for your Citi PayAll Service transactions. The rewards currency will depend on your card type, and this will be subject to capping. Citi Shell and Simplicity Cards cannot earn rewards. The rewards will only be credited after your card has been charged with the Payment Amount as well as the Processing Fee.
Can I schedule a payment?
Yes, you can schedule a payment date. The Citi PayAll Service will allow you to select a payment due date that is 7 calendar days after the point of set – up. You have the option to make this either a single (one-time payment) or a recurring payment for the next 12 months.
What name convention should I use in the recipient name field?
To avoid any possible inconvenience that may arise, kindly indicate the exact bank account name of your recipient.
How long do payments take to reach my beneficiary?
Payments take up to 7 calendar days to be processed.
Is there a fee for using Citi PayAll?
Yes, a Citi PayAll Transaction Fee is charged for all Citi PayAll transactions, which is determined for each customer, as part of your enrollment. The Citi PayAll Transaction Fee will be reflected on the screen after you input the transaction amount and recipient details.
I've lost my card! Will my payments continue to recur?
If you have lost your card, your payments will continue on the newly reissued card. As mentioned in the terms & conditions - if you have scheduled a recurring Payment on a designated card and such card is renewed or replaced with a card bearing the same card number, you acknowledge that these recurring Payments will be charged to such renewed or replaced card.
Is there a cap to the amount I can transact via Citi PayAll?
You can enter an amount that does not exceed your available credit limit. Kindly note that that the transaction will not push through if you are past your available credit limit.
Furthermore, you are limited to a maximum of 6 transactions, with up to 2 transactions made to the same beneficiary. You are also limited to a maximum of PHP 1,000,000 (~USD 19,000) on aggregate per month. These limits are per customer, across all cards.
Is there a deadline for me to set up Citi PayAll?
No, there is no deadline for you to set up Citi PayAll. You can set up your payments via (1) a link, which is sent across via email or SMS and will lead you to Citibank Online, and (2) via the Citi Mobile® Application.
However, if you choose to enroll via email or SMS invitation, please note that the offer is valid for 30 days from the day you receive either an email or SMS. After 30 days, you can still set up a Citi PayAll transaction via the Citi Mobile® Application.
When will the recipient receive my payment?
The earliest date a payment can be scheduled is 7 calendar days from your day of set - up. Once scheduled, your payments will not be late based on the payment date you specified. For external bank account destinations, your payment will be credited after 2 banking days from the date that your card has been charged.
How will I know if my set up or payment is successful?
You will receive an SMS notification alert and an email when the payment has been set up successfully, as well as when the payment has been successfully charged to your credit card. Successful payments will be reflected in your credit card statement.
In line with this, if your payments are recurring – you will also receive a notification alert every month, when the transaction is charged to your credit card.
We will also notify you if your payment fails to go through.
My payment got rejected. What do I do now?
You will receive an SMS notification and/or an email when your payment is unsuccessful. For this case, you will not be able to proceed with the Citi PayAll Service. Please make alternative arrangements to ensure your recipient gets paid on time.
If a payment fails, will I still be charged?
If your payment fails to go through, the transaction amount and the transaction fee will be refunded to your credit card after two (2) business days.
What happens if I input incorrect details and set up the payment to the wrong recipient / beneficiary?
If you have accidentally placed the wrong payment / recipient details – and this was processed successfully, the transaction amount with the service fee will not be refundable, and will still appear on your statement.
Also, as we do not carry out any independent verification on the Payee Account, reference numbers and/or other payment details provided by you, please ensure you input the correct details.
Can I amend or cancel my transaction after I have confirmed it?
Unfortunately, you cannot amend your transactions once it has been set up. However, should you wish to cancel the transaction, please log into your Citi Mobile® Application. You can review and cancel your existing payment instructions by selecting the PayAll option under "Payments" tab. However, please note that you may only cancel a transaction up until 7 calendar days before your next payment due date.
How will my Citi PayAll payments be reflected on my credit card statement?
Your payment will appear as "CITI PAYALL" on your credit card statement, along with indications of the payment type and your recipients name e.g "CITI PAYALL - RENT - LEE WALKER"
Your recipient will see the transaction in their bank statement depending on the convention that their banks use. Based from sample transactions done, here are some examples of the conventions used:
Can I raise a dispute on my Citi PayAll payment transactions? Will I be reimbursed?
As all Citi PayAll payment transactions will not be processed via any of the card associations (for example, Visa or MasterCard), the chargeback dispute resolution process of the card associations will not be available to you and accordingly, you will not be able to raise a chargeback dispute in respect of any payment transaction. All claims and disputes against a payee should be pursued directly with the applicable payee.

Yes. You will receive a reminder for your upcoming Citi PayAll transactions via SMS and/or email.

You will receive a reminder for your upcoming Citi PayAll transaction 2 business days before the amount is authorized to the Payee.
