Remit to a Philippine Citibank Account

Step1
  1. SENDER opens a Citibank account abroad.
Step2
  1. RECIPIENT, in the Philippines, opens a Citibank Peso or Dollar Account. RECIPIENT gets his Citibank CitiCard (ATM card) on the same day the account is opened.

  1. RECIPIENT informs SENDER of his/her Citibank Peso or Dollar Account number.

  1. SENDER remits money through Citibank Online or any Citibank ATM abroad.

  1. RECIPIENT uses the Citibank CitiCard to withdraw the remittance from any of over 6,500 BancNet, MegaLink and ExpressNet ATMs in the Philippines.

The sender abroad needs a Citibank Checking, Savings or Money Market account to fund the CGT and the account number of the recipient account in Citibank Philippines.

A sender can access Citibank Global Transfers in two ways:

  1. Log on to Citibank Online. Click on the "Transfers & Payments" icon on the top and then click on "Citibank Global Transfers".
  2. Access a Citibank account using any Citibank ATM. Click on the "Transfers & Payments" icon and then click on "Make an International Transfer.

The minimum amount for a CGT transaction is $1 (exclusive of any fee for the transfer). The maximum you can send from a single account depends on the originating country and the type of account that the sender has. The sending customer should inquire at his Citibank branch.

Funds transferred via CGT will be debited from the sender's account and credited to the recipient's account immediately. Once the transfer has been processed, the system will display a confirmation to the sender. The confirmation will include the new balance for the originating account, the transfer and fee amount, the destination account and country, and the reference number for the transfer.

The recipient will see the CGT transaction in his transaction listing as "CGT TRANSFER CREDIT".

There is no charge for CGT transactions coming into your account. The cost of an outgoing CGT is charged to the sender’s account and varies per originating country. The sending customer should inquire at his Citibank branch abroad.

Citibank's conversion rate for transfers denominated in a foreign currency includes a commission for the conversion service.
