Features

Citi Alerts are notifications about the latest information and reminders regarding your banking and/or credit card account/s. You may enroll in a wide range of Alerts depending on the transactions you do and information you want to receive. You can receive Citi Alerts via SMS, e-mail, and/or Push Notifications in your Citi Mobile® App. These Alerts are free and available to all Citi clients with bank and/or credit card account/s.

Citi Alerts:

Citi Alerts are notifications about the latest information and reminders regarding your banking and/or credit card account/s. You may enroll in a wide range of Alerts depending on the transactions you do and information you want to receive. You can receive Citi Alerts via SMS, e-mail, and/or Push Notifications in your Citi Mobile® App. These Alerts are free and available to all Citi Clients with bank and/or credit card account/s.

You can receive Citi Alerts through e-mail, SMS, and/or Push Notifications in your Citi Mobile® App. General alerts about Citibank, NA. Philippines products and services are sent through SMS, e-mail, and/or Push Notifications in your Citi Mobile® App, while Fraud alerts are sent through SMS.

Once you enroll to Citi Alerts, you can choose which alerts you want to receive and through which channel (e-mail, SMS, and/or Push Notifications in your Citi Mobile® App) you want to receive them.

To receive alerts via SMS and/or e-mail, enroll to Citi Alerts® through your Citibank Online® (citibank.com.ph) account via the following steps:

Log in to Citibank Online® (citibank.com.ph) > Services > Profile & Settings > Citi Alerts® > Manage Alerts.

To receive alerts via Push Notification, enroll to Citi Alerts® through your Citi Mobile® App via the following steps:

If you have a Citi banking account:

Log in to your Citi Mobile® App > click on the top left button menu > Settings > Push Notifications > Notifications.

If you have a credit card only:

Log in to your Citi Mobile® App > Settings > Notifications > Enable Notifications.

All Citi clients with bank and/or credit card account/s can enroll and receive Citi Alerts®.

No, all Citi Alerts® are free of charge.

You will start receiving your Citi Alerts® one business day after your enrollment.

Most alerts are triggered by a transaction or an account activity.

To view your SMS and/or E-mail alerts:

Log in to Citibank Online® (citibank.com.ph) > Services > Profile & Settings > Citi Alerts > Alerts History.

To view Push Notifications:

If you have a Citi banking account:

Log in to Citi Mobile® App > Menu > My Notifications

If you have a Citi credit card only:

Log in to Citi Mobile® App and click the icon at the top right corner on your Cards screen.

To choose which SMS and E-mail Alerts you are enrolled in:

Log in to Citibank Online® (citibank.com.ph) > Services > Profile & Settings > Citi Alerts > Manage Alerts.

To choose which Push Notification Alerts you are enrolled in:

If you have a Citi banking account:

Log in to Citi Mobile® App > Settings > Push Notifications > Manage Alerts > select the alerts you want to receive via Push Notifications > Continue > Save.

If you have a Citi credit card only:

Log in to Citi Mobile® App > Settings > Notifications > select the alerts you want to receive via Push Notifications > Save.

 

Note:

You can check your current enrollment status of Push Notification by logging on to Citibank Online® > Services > My Profile > Manage Alerts, but you can only enroll or de-enroll from Push Notifications via the Citi Mobile® App.

No, you just have to enroll to Citi Alerts® once and you will receive your chosen Alerts for all your banking and/or credit card account/s in the channel/s you have indicated (e-mail, SMS, and/or Push Notifications in your Citi Mobile® App).

No, Citi Alerts® are specific to each Citi client. When a primary account holder enrolls in Citi Alerts, this does not automatically enroll his supplementary cardholder/s. The supplementary cardholder/s must also enroll to Citi Alerts® to receive notifications.

No, Citi Alerts® are specific to each Citi client. When an account holder of a joint account enrolls in Citi Alerts®, this does not automatically enroll his co-account holder/s. The co-account holder/s must also enroll to Citi Alerts® to receive notifications.

The Bounced Check alert is an alert you will receive when a Citibank check you have issued has bounced. On the other hand, the Return Unpaid alert is an alert you will receive if a check deposited into your Citibank account/s bounces/is dishonored.

A Standing Instruction is a scheduled transfer of a set amount to a specific payee. It is usually created to set recurring payments to a credit card, savings or checking account, loans, or bills.

No, Alerts are only sent electronically via e-mail.

Yes, you are required to update us if you have changed your e-mail address. As Citi Alerts® delivered via e-mail may contain your account information, it is important that you keep the bank updated with your e-mail address.

Yes, Citi Alerts sent via e-mail can be delivered to any type of e-mail account.

Push Notifications:

A Push Notification is a secure and convenient way of receiving the latest information and reminders regarding your banking and/or credit card account/s via your Citi Mobile® App. Push Notifications pop up on your mobile device when you are connected to the Internet or a cellular mobile data network.

As long as you are connected to the Internet or a cellular mobile data network, you will still receive Push Notifications even if you are travelling abroad, if something is wrong with your SIM card, or if you have changed your SIM card.

As an alternative way to receive your Citi Alerts® via SMS, Push Notifications are stored in your Citi Mobile® App and Citibank Online® account for 30 days.

If you have a Citi banking account:

Log in to Citi Mobile® App > Menu > My Notifications.

If you have a Citi credit card only:

Log in to Citi Mobile® App and click the icon at the top right corner on your Cards screen.

Push Notifications will be retained in your Citi Mobile® App and Citibank Online® account for 30 calendar days after you receive them. You will not be able to delete any Push Notifications from your Citi Mobile® App.

Your alerts via Push Notifications will be activated on the next business day after your enrollment.

If you have a Citi banking account:

Log in to Citi Mobile® App > Settings > Push Notifications > Manage Alerts > select the alerts you want to receive via Push Notifications > Continue > Save.

If you have a Citi credit card only:

Log in to Citi Mobile® App > Settings > Notifications > select the alerts you want to receive via Push Notification > Save.

No, Push Notifications are free for all Citi clients.

Yes, you will still receive the e-mail alerts you are enrolled in even after enrolling in Push Notifications.

No, if you enroll in Push Notifications, you will no longer receive SMS alerts. Enrolling in Push Notifications will automatically replace the SMS alerts that you are enrolled to.

Yes, you may choose via which channel (Push Notification, SMS, and/or e-mail) you receive your Citi Alerts. Here’s how you can manage your Alerts:

Yes, changing the ATM withdrawal threshold amount in Citi Mobile® App will change the ATM withdrawal threshold across all types of Alert delivery. For example, if your current ATM withdrawal alert threshold limit is Php 5,000 and you change the limit to Php 10,000, you will receive an ATM withdrawal alert only when the amount of transaction is greater than Php 10,000.

Yes, changing the details of a Standing Instruction in Push Notifications will change the details of corresponding Standing Instruction Alert sent via e-mail.

There are 2 ways to disable Push Notifications if you have lost your phone:

  • Download the Citi Mobile® App on another phone and enroll for Push Notifications.
  • Call CitiPhone (+02) 995 9999 and a CitiPhone officer will be available to assist you from 6AM to 9PM daily to disable Push Notifications.

Yes, when you download the Citi Mobile® App, log-in to your account, and enroll to Push Notifications on your new phone or device, you will be able to see your Push Notifications for the last 30 days in the "My Notifications" screen.

To get Push Notifications on your new device if you had previously enrolled to Push Notifications on your old device:

Delete your Citi Mobile® App on your old phone > download the Citi Mobile® App on your new phone > enroll to Push Notifications.

Yes, even if you are travelling overseas, as long as you have connection to the Internet or a cellular mobile data network, you will receive Push Notifications.

When your mobile phone is not connected to a stable Internet connection or a cellular mobile data network, you will not receive your Push Notifications.

If you cannot enable Push Notifications on a device, it could be because another user has already enabled Push Notifications in the Citi Mobile® App on this device. A device can only have one customer enrolled in Push Notification in the Citi Mobile® App to ensure the security of your banking and/or credit card account information and activities.

If you would like to enable Push Notifications on this device for your account, you can either:

  • Ask the other user who has enabled Push Notifications on this device to disable it
  • Delete and reinstall the Citi Mobile app, then log on to Citi Mobile® App > Settings > Manage Push Notifications > Manage Notifications > Switch on/off the specific alerts for Push Notifications

We recommended that you only enable Push Notifications on the device that you commonly use.

You might suddenly stop receiving Push Notification:

  • If your mobile phone is not connected to the Internet nor a cellular mobile data network;
  • If you de-enrolled in Push Notifications in your Citi Mobile® App;
  • If your Citi Mobile® App is not upgraded with the latest version;
  • If you deleted the Citi Mobile® App from your mobile phone / device;
  • If you downloaded Citi Mobile® App and enrolled for Push Notifications on another device.

If you are still unable to receive Push Notifications, please call CitiPhone at 995 9999, and a CitiPhone officer will be available to assist you from 6AM to 9PM daily.

If you have a Citi banking account:

Log in to Citi Mobile® App > Settings > Push Notifications > Turn off Notification by sliding the toggle button (toggle).

If you have a credit card only:

Log in to Citi Mobile® App > Settings > Notifications > Turn off Notification by sliding the toggle button (toggle).

Citibank Alerts Service enables you to request and receive specific prompts (collectively, "Alerts", individually, an "Alert") from time to time concerning available account information and other matters relating to your Citibank Credit Cards and bank accounts ("Account(s)"). By signing up through Citibank Online or through CitiPhone to receive one or more of the Alerts that are offered by the Citibank Alerts Service, you acknowledge that you are aware of and agree to abide by the following terms and conditions:

The Citibank Alerts Service allows you to request and receive text messages ("SMS") and/or electronic mail ("e-mail") messages about your Account(s). We send Alerts to you based upon the instructions you provide to us through Citibank Online or through CitiPhone. These instructions include your correct email address or addresses and mobile phone number. Your instructions are neither reviewed nor verified by Citibank prior to or following activation of the Citibank Alerts Service. You hereby acknowledge and accept that each Alert may be sent to you without being encrypted and may include your name and information pertaining to your Account(s).

You may receive Alerts through an SMS-enabled mobile phone, an e-mail account that is accessed via a customer terminal, or both. It is your responsibility to ensure the security of your cellphone and e-mail account. Accordingly, you hereby hold Citibank free and harmless against any and all liability, administrative, civil or criminal, including, but not limited to, to those relating to secrecy laws or regulations, should any Alerts which may include your name and information pertaining to your Account(s) be viewed or accessed by persons other than yourself. It is your responsibility to determine if your mobile phone service provider supports text messaging, if your telephone is capable of receiving text messages or if your Internet service provider supports email service or if your customer terminal is capable of receiving email messages. Citibank Alerts Service is subject to the terms and conditions of your agreement(s) with your mobile phone carrier and/or Internet service provider. You are responsible for any fees imposed by your mobile phone service and Internet service provider of any kind whatsoever.

You acknowledge and agree that your receipt of any Alert may be delayed or prevented by factor(s) affecting your mobile phone service provider(s) or Internet service provider(s) and other factors outside our control. We neither guarantee the delivery nor the accuracy of the contents of each Alert. You agree to hold Citibank, its directors, officers, employees and agents free and harmless from any and all losses or damages, including attorneys’ fees, that may arise, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from:

  1. A non-delivery, delayed delivery, or the misdirected delivery of an Alert;
  2. Inaccurate or incomplete content in an Alert;
  3. Your reliance on or use of the information provided in an Alert for any purpose;
  4. Any third party, whether authorized or not, obtaining information on your Account(s) disclosed in the Alerts by accessing your e-mail account or cellphone.

The SMS and email are sent to you for convenience, information, notification and where applicable, demand purposes. An Alert does not constitute a record for the Account(s) to which it pertains. Citibank does not assume any additional responsibility or obligation under these Terms and Conditions in respect of the use of, or any transaction or eventuality involving, your Account(s). The service does not free you from the responsibility of safeguarding the physical security and authorized use of your Account(s). You acknowledge that the service is merely an aid to monitor the use of your Account(s) but subscription to the service does not entail that Citibank will automatically be liable for any unauthorized transactions that may be charged to your Account(s). The use of the service does not automatically entitle you to the Lost Card Protection of Citibank, N.A. Credit Cards. You acknowledge that it is still your responsibility to report a lost or stolen card immediately for you to be absolved from any financial liability in case the card is used for fraudulent purposes, from the time the loss is reported to CitiPhone in accordance with the Terms and Conditions Governing the Issuance and Use of Citibank Credit Cards.

For lost or stolen ATM Card, Debit Card, and Citibank VISA/ MasterCard, you also acknowledge that you must immediately report the same by calling CitiPhone. Citibank shall not be liable for any loss, damage or liability you shall suffer if the card is used for fraudulent purposes prior to the time its loss is reported to CitiPhone.

Citibank reserves the right to terminate its Citibank Alerts Service or begin charging a fee for such service at any time without prior notice to you.
