What is One-Time PIN?

One-Time PIN (OTP) is a unique six-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN). It acts as a user authentication tool to protect your online transactions and your log in credentials. OTP gets delivered to your registered primary mobile number* and cannot be re-used as it expires after five minutes.

Ensure that your mobile number in our system is updated. If travelling or based abroad, you may register your international mobile number to receive your OTPs by calling CitiPhone.

Download the Citi Mobile® App for iPhone or Android phones and use the Citi Mobile® Token feature to generate your One-Time PIN.

In just a push of a button, the OSD or hardware token gives you the OTP that you need to access your account information or make online transactions.

This device is avaliable for P500. You can call CitiPhone or go to the Citibank branch nearest you to order.

Know more about Citibank Online One-Time PIN

One-Time PIN (OTP) is a unique six-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN) that is required to access your Citibank account details and fulfill selected online transactions which will allow you to view full information about your account/s. You may get your OTPs via your mobile phone, Citibank Online Security Device (OSD) or Citi Mobile Banking App.

The OTP will only be sent to the primary mobile number in our system. If you wish to change or update your primary mobile number, you may log on to www.citibank.com.ph or Call CitiPhone at 995 9999995 9999 (for Citibank customers)

If your mobile number is in our record, this will be reflected in the OTP screen. If your mobile number is not reflected, this means that your mobile number is not updated in our records. To update your mobile number:

  • Log in to www.citibank.com.ph, click Update links in my Account page and fill up the online contact details change form, or
  • Call CitiPhone at 995 9999995 9999 (for Citibank customers)

Should you wish to update your mobile number, you can update through the following channels:

  • CitiPhone at 995 9999995 9999 (for Citibank customers)
  • Branch through your Account Officer or Relationship Manager

You can still log on to your account, but you need the One-Time PIN to perform transactions such as

  • Viewing of account details and activities
  • Payments and Transfers
  • Registration and activation of Global View of Accounts
  • Update of account password and contact details.

If still unable to receive OTP via SMS, you may opt to use register for OTP via Citi Mobile Banking App or Online Security Device.

For urgent requirements pertaining to transfer of funds between your CitibankChecking/Savings accounts and request to debit from your Citibank Checking/Savings accounts to pay for your Citibank Credit Card, you may also request for assistance via the "Call Me" service. Simply log in to www.citibank.com.ph and go to the Call Me Icon at the right hand menu in your My Home page.

Your OTP will be sent as long as your international mobile number or local mobile number on roaming is enabled to receive text messages when you're abroad.

Yes, the OTP via SMS is free of charge except for cases wherein incoming SMS charges are imposed by your telco for international roaming.

Your OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number on record with us. If the OTP screen reflects a different mobile number, please call CitiPhone to update.

Yes, the OTP can be generated through your registered mobile number as flash SMS, through an Online Security Device (OSD) or through Citi Mobile Banking App.

Transactions that require the use of an OTP are those that enable you to have full, detailed access to your account profile and information. These include:

  • View account details and activities
  • Payments and Transfers
  • Registration and activation of Global View of Accounts
  • Registration of new Citibank Online account
  • Update of account password and contact details

You only need to enter the OTP once per online session. Once you have entered your OTP, you will be able to make multiple transactions within the same session.

Upon successful update of your mobile number, please allow three (3) business days for your number to be activated to receive OTP.

A unique Online Security Device will be assigned per customer. Registration is required to activate the device.

The Online Security Device is part of the financial industry-wide initiative for an even safer online banking experience. This device has stronger authentication capabilities and provides you an extra layer of security against potential fraudulent activities and threats.

You can only assign one unique Online Security Device per username.

You may avail of the Online Security Device at cost, for Php500. To request for an Online Security Device, you may do the following:

Simply Log-in to www.citibank.com.ph and click on "Call Me" icon in your account page. A CitiPhone Officer will call you on your desired time and assist you for your request.

Login

  • Log in to Citibank Online with your username and password.
  • Click on "Compose a Message" under My Mailbox section on the right navigation bar of your Account Summary page.
  • Enter your One-Time PIN (OTP).
  • Write the message and click on "Send This Message" to send it to us.

Simply press the Green Generate button at the bottom right of the OSD. A unique 6 digit One-Time PIN will be generated by the device. Enter this One-Time PIN in your Citibank Online screen to proceed with your online transaction.

The New Online Security Device issued to you needs to be registered to your profile.

To register your OSD, simply follow these three steps:

  • Log on to citibank.com.ph and click Online Services > Manage Online Account > Online Security Device Registration
  • Enter your date of birth and Security Device Serial Number
  • Generate the One-Time PIN (OTP) by clicking on the green button of your device. Click Submit.

A confirmation page will be displayed - you may already start using the OSD for your online transactions.

Please call CitiPhone to report your OSD as lost. A Php*500 replacement for the new OSD applies.

Online Security Device is also applicable to mobile banking. If you login to mobile banking via the Citi Mobile application or by typing www.citibank.com.ph on your mobile browser, you may also input the OTP generated by the Online Security Device.

You or your authorized representative may pick-up the OSD in the Citibank branch near you.

Yes, you can use the One-Time PIN generated by the OSD for your access to Citi Mobile Banking.

An OSD battery life will last between 5–6 years depending on the usage. Once the battery is weak, the token will display "Batt 05" (which means battery will last for 5 weeks), "Batt 04" (which means battery will last for 4 weeks), "Batt 03", "Batt 02" and "Batt 01" before the battery finally dies off. Hence, please request for OSD when necessary.

You only need to press the green button to generate a One-Time Password (OTP). We will inform you about the instructions and procedures when the additional functionalities are available.
