How To Apply

Just log in to the Citi Mobile® App and follow these steps:

Your application or request for credit limit / relationship limit increase shall be subject to the Bank’s credit evaluation.

Submit any of the following through the Citi Mobile® App

For employed:

  • Latest complete 1 month pay slip issued within the last 2 months (Note: If you receive two or more pay slips in a month, please submit all of them); or
  • Certificate of Employment with Salary issued within the last 2 months; or
  • Latest ITR with BIR stamp (Note: ITR that was issued in 2020 will only be accepted until June 30, 2022)

For self-employed:

  • Latest income tax return of your business (Form 1701) – all pages; AND
  • Latest Audited Financial Statements of the business with independent auditor’s report and balance sheets and tax receipt with bank stamp – all pages

Once you have submitted the application for an increase in credit limit/relationship limit, the approval for the request will be subject to the bank’s credit evaluation. Upon credit evaluation, Citibank reserves the right to either approve/reject your application or grant a lower credit limit than the requested credit limit. Typically, the estimated processing time for an increase in credit limit/relationship limit is one month.

Banks usually decide your credit limit upon credit evaluation. Usually, it will be based on, but not limited, to the following factors:

  • Income: Based on your employment status, banks will assess your income to check your repayment capability.
  • Credit Score: Banks will assess your credit score to check your creditworthiness, a good credit score can help you get a higher credit limit and vice versa.

Banks may suggest a change in your credit limit if you maintain a good credit behaviour. Banks will usually inform you when your credit limit can be increased. You may either choose to accept it or retain your current credit limit. Also, you can request the bank to change your credit limit by contacting the bank’s customer service, by sending an email or via online banking. Based on your credit evaluation, banks may choose to approve or reject your request.

By maintaining a healthy credit behaviour, spending below your credit limit and paying credit card bills in full within the due date, you can improve your credit score, thereby enabling the bank to consider your request for an increase in the credit limit. However, the approval for the request will solely depend on the bank’s credit evaluation.

  1. Your application or request for credit limit / relationship limit increase shall be subject to the Bank’s credit evaluation. Citibank reserves the right to reject your application or to grant a lower credit limit than the requested credit limit as a result of the Bank’s credit evaluation at the time of application. Our estimated processing time is one month.
  2. Should the line increase be approved, this increase shall be shared across all of your Citi Cards; the new credit limit/relationship limit will be reflected in your Citibank Online account.
