  1. What is Citi Alerts Service?

    Citi Alerts Service is an electronic messaging service that allows you to receive product news and updates as well as notifications specifically regarding your bank and/or credit card account. The alerts are sent through SMS, email or both depending on the type of notification you specify upon enrollment.

  2. Can I use this service?

    Yes, if you have a Citibank N.A. Philippines bank and/or credit card account. Just enroll in Citi Alerts Service and provide the correct email address/es and mobile cellular phone number that will receive the alerts.

  3. How do I enroll in this service?

    Just follow these easy steps:

    • Visit www.citibank.com.ph and sign on to Citibank Online with your sign on profile.
    • After signing on, select the Citi Alerts Service link on the left navigation bar.
    • On the Citi Alerts Service page, enter your name, email address and mobile number in the fields provided.
    • To subscribe, click on Yes, I want to subscribe to Citi Alerts Service. Click on Account Alerts to enroll in specific alerts regarding your bank and/or credit card account. Click on General Alerts to receive product news and updates.
    • To enroll in Account Alerts, please select the specific alerts you wish to receive. Please select the following per enrolled alert: whether specific or all eligible accounts, whether you will be notified through email/SMS or both and notification frequency.
    • To enroll in Promotional Alerts, please select the specific alerts you wish to receive and the whether you will be notified through your primary or secondary email address or both. Due to the size of the promotional alerts, this may be sent only through email.

    Once you are finished enrolling in your chosen alerts, click on Done. You will then see a confirmation screen with a recap of all alerts enrolled.

  4. How do I enroll in this service?

    Yes, you may update your Citi Alerts Service profile anytime. Here’s how:

    • Sign on to Citibank Online and click on Citi Alerts Service link on the left navigation bar.
    • Once you are on the Citi Alerts Service change, you may enter your changes in the Customer Profile page, General Alerts page or Account Alerts page.

    The changes will take effect in approximately 1 week’s time.

  5. What are General Alerts?

    General Alerts are news and updates on Citibank N.A. Philippines products and services. You can receive updates regarding the different Citibank credit cards, banking services, Citigold Wealth Management as well as online banking news.

  6. What are Account-Specific Alerts?

    • If you have a Citibank Credit Card:
      • Payment Due - An SMS/email alert will provide you with your credit card statement date, total amount due, minimum amount due, and payment due date, immediately after statement cycle date.
      • Available Balance - A weekly SMS/email alert will update your on the available balance/limit on your credit card. Weekly alerts will be sent on the day after the enrollment . Example, if you subscribe to this alert on a Monday, available balance alerts will be sent every Tuesday.
      • Payment Posted - An SMS/email alert will send you a confirmation everytime you make a payment.
      • Credit Limit Nearing Maximum - An SMS/email alert will be sent when you have used at least 80% of your credit line.
      • Large Purchase - An SMS/email alert will be sent when a single purchase of PhP20,000 or greater is charged to your credit card.
      • Fraud Notification - An SMS alert is sent when Citibank detects a possible suspicious transaction charged to your credit card. This alert will notify you of the transaction and ask you to call us about the transaction. This is a real-time alert sent through SMS.
    • If you have a Citibank N.A. Philippines Savings or Checking Account:
      (You can receive this alert through email/SMS or both)
      • Checks Cleared - This alert will notify you if a Citibank N.A. Philippines check you issued has cleared.
      • Checks Deposited into My Account: Return Unpaid - This alert will notify you if a check deposited into your Citibank N.A. Philippines account bounces.
      • Bounced Checks - This alert will notify you if a Citibank N.A. Philippines check you issued bounced.
      • Large Withdrawal - This alert will notify you if a large withdrawal of at least $3,000 or its Peso equivalent (approximately Php150,000) is posted against your bank account.
      • Large Deposit - This alert will notify you if a large deposit of at least $3,000 or its Peso equivalent (approximately Php150,000) is posted to your bank account.
      • Transfer to Another Citibank N.A. Philippines Account - This alert will notify you if you have successfully transferred funds from your Citibank N.A. Philippines account to another Citibank N.A. Philippines account
      • Transfer to A Third Party Account - This alert will notify you if you have successfully transferred funds from your Citibank N.A. Philippines account to a local or foreign third party
      • Low Balance - This alert will notify you if your balance falls below the minimum Total Relationship Balance.
      • Inactive Account - This alert will notify you if your bank account becomes inactive.
      • Salary Credit - This alert will notify you if your salary has been credited to your account (for companies with payroll accounts provided by Citibank at Work only).
    • If you have a Citibank N.A. Philippines Time Deposit:
      (You can receive this alert through email/SMS or both)
      • Time Deposit Maturity - This alert will notify you before the maturity of your Time Deposit account
      • Time Deposit Rollover – This alert will notify you when you time deposit has mature and the funds have been rolled over.
      • Time Deposit Redemption - This alert will notify that proceeds of Time Deposit maturity have been credited to your Checking or Savings account.
    • If you have an incoming remittance:
      (You can receive this alert through email/SMS or both)
      • Remittance - This alert will notify you if a remittance is made through Citibank Global Transfer to your bank account or Moneycard account.
    • If you pay bills or have standing instructions online:
      (You can receive this alert through email/SMS or both)
      • Setup New Payee - This alert will notify you when you set up a new payee through Citibank Online.
      • Standing Instruction Failure - This alert will notify you when your Standing Instruction in Citibank Online has failed.

  7. How will I receive my alerts?

    You have a choice to receive your bank alerts through email, SMS or both. For general alerts about Citibank N.A. Philippines products and services, these can be sent only through email. Fraud alerts are sent only through SMS.

  8. How often will I receive my alerts?

    For certain alerts, you can choose the frequency of the alert notification. You can decide to receive the messages regularly (i.e. every time an alert is triggered), once a day, once a week, or once a month.

  9. Do I have to pay for this service?

    This service is FREE. You do not have to pay to enroll or receive alerts.

  10. Will I still receive my alerts whenever I travel?

    You can receive your alerts anytime, anywhere through your e-mail. To receive SMS alerts when you travel, please ensure that your mobile service provider activates your roaming facility. You will be responsible for any fees charged by your mobile service provider or Internet Service Provider in receiving your alerts.
